Can the jarrah selected in my product have as little gum as possible?

Unlike many of the ash timbers, jarrah is back-sawn and hence, feature lines vary in width and length. It is impossible to select a clear piece of timber from the jarrah that is supplied to us.

I don’t like the black fill that you use, could you use a brown coloured fill that blends with the timber?

We use a black resin to match the colour of the black gum in the product. We cannot use clear fiberglass resin as the continual expansion and contraction of the timber cracks the dried fiberglass resin. We also do not use brown fill as over a period of time the natural colour of the timber becomes lighter in appearance, whilst the fill becomes darker.

Does the sun bleach jarrah?

Yes! All timbers bleach and as jarrah is a dark wood, this is more appreciable. Keep your product away from prolonged direct sunlight to avoid this from happening.

What do you recommend to clean the timber?

Use either a damp cloth or a furniture polish that does not contain silicone. Avoid placing hot elements (cups of coffee) or containers of water which may overfill, otherwise a white ring or mark will appear on the timber, penetrating beneath the polish.

Can I have my product without the engraved Clarecraft logo?

We engrave our logo to protect our goods from being copied. In most states in Australia we have a label our goods by law, showing the origin of manufacture. Also to comply with the Australian Made program we are also bound. Please consult your stockist for further advice.

Can you colour match the furniture for me?

Jarrah varies significantly in colour, for this reason we recommend that you purchase your casegoods at the same time that you purchase your bed. We can colour match your furniture only from a sample provided to us of a product constructed in jarrah. We do not colour match to other timber and we cannot effectively colour match from a photo.

Can you modify the casegoods for me?

The product is manufactured in batches varying from 12-50 units at a time. Our factory cannot cater for one off items. Aside from this every process is drawn on computer aided packages, which to change would significantly increase the time of the process.

I have a thick mattress that I want to place on my bed. Can you increase the height of the bed?

We cannot increase the height of the bed; however with some of our products we can adjust the height of the bed rails.

Will you put my own handles on the casegoods if I supply them to you?

Yes, but only if the handles are sent direct to us. We do not guarantee any of our products if handles are put on by store staff, or whereby the store or customer have to drill holes in the drawer fronts to accommodate different handles.
